Troubadour Theatre just the ticket for Canary Wharf

Troubadour Theatre is set to take centre stage at Canary Wharf with the opening of a new venue later this year.

Opening this autumn, the 1,200 sq ft capacity theatre will launch with the first-ever live stage adaption of The Hunger Games, based on the book by Suzanne Collins and Lionsgate’s blockbuster film.

The venue will also feature two bars, a 100-cover restaurant, and an external terrace overlooking the water.

The deal follows a record-breaking year for Canary Wharf, which welcomed 72.2 million visitors in 2024.

Stuart Fyfe, managing director of retail, leisure, and hospitality at Canary Wharf Group, said: “Canary Wharf has evolved into a true mixed-use neighbourhood, a vibrant destination where people choose to work, live, and spend their leisure time. Troubadour and The Hunger Games is a fantastic addition to elevate the already bustling retail and leisure offer here at Canary Wharf, bringing even more people to the neighbourhood.

“We’re seeing a growing desire for experiences at the Wharf and we are already home to The Cube, Fairgame, Electric Shuffle, Illusionaries, Broadwick Studios, and Pitch. The arrival of the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre perfectly complements our vast array of restaurants, cafes, and bars, art and culture further solidifying the Wharf as a thriving seven-day destination. Our excellent transport links make it effortless for people to visit from across London and beyond.”

The announcement follows the news that Imbiba will open a 65,000 sq ft leisure venue at Canary Wharf later this year, introducing a hotel and brands such as Amazing Grace to the area.
