AllSaints opens permanent store at Glasgow’s Princes Square

AllSaints has opened a permanent store at Princes Square in Glasgow, following the success of its nearby pop-up last year. Located at Units 22 and 23, the fashion retailer’s store spans 1,828 sq ft and adds to AllSaint’s existing presence in Scotland, with the brand already operating stores at Silverburn in Glasgow and on Edinburgh’s George Street. The store – which will open on Thursday 5th June – arrives after AllSaints launched a pop-up store in Princes Square in April 2024, which enjoyed strong sales and high footfall. AllSaints said it has significant growth plans for the rest of this year, including the opening of a new, larger store at outlet shopping destination Bicester Village at the end of June. Frankie Mallinson, global retail director at AllSaints, said: “The response to our recent pop-up in Princes Square has been fantastic, and we’re excited to be opening a new permanent space in the same location. NewRiver sells Northern Irish shopping centre for £58.8m

NewRiver has completed the sale of the Abbey Centre in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland, in an off-market transaction for £58.8m. The real estate investment trust said the sale price was in line with the March 2024 and March 2025 book values, and reflected a net initial yield of 9%. Situated six miles north of Belfast city centre, the Abbey Centre spans 320,000 sq ft and is home to over 70 shops alongside a food court and a doctors’ surgery. NewRiver had owned the scheme since 2014, and oversaw a number of asset management initiatives during its ownership. These included the creation of a new 44,000 sq ft flagship store for Next, the re-anchoring of the former BHS unit to accommodate Primark, and the upsizing of River Island, Poundland, The Works, and Superdrug. Under NewRiver’s ownership, the Abbey Centre also underwent a refurbishment programme which saw changes to the entrance and car park and an updated food court. The sale comes after the recent acquisition of the nearby Shore Road Retail Park by a local investor for £5.4m. Retro clothing retailer to make Southern debut at The Liberty Romford

Retro clothing retailer 80s Casual Classics is set to open its first store in the South at The Liberty Romford in London. Spanning 2,340 sq ft, the store will he the brand’s fifth in the UK and offer a range of 70s, 80s, and 90s-inspired apparel from vintage brands. The retailer – which has supplied wardrobe to several films and TV series including This is England, The Firm, Marching Powder, and The Business – will also stock custom-made exclusives from third party brands. Daniel Tucker, leasing manager at The Liberty Romford, said: “80s Casual Classics is unlike anything we have at The Liberty Romford, and as a result will help us diversify our mix even further. We are a destination that evolves with the needs of our community, and with the demand for nostalgic fashion growing, 80s Casual Classics will enrich our customer experience while also establishing a key point of difference.” The announcement follows the recent news that The Liberty Romford has experienced a series of investment from four high street brands, with Pandora, The Perfume Shop, Holland & Barrett, and EE all committing to the destination. Cushman & Wakefield and Green & Partners acted for The Liberty Romford, whilst Bennett Phillips represented 80s Casual Classics.

Trio of F&B operators invest in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter

St James Quarter in Edinburgh has welcomed a raft of investment from three food and beverage operators. Itsu has reopened at the shopping destination, now operating as a company-run restaurant, the site having previously been a franchisee. Trading from a 2,000 sq ft space, Itsu will offer sushi, rice, and noodle bowls, as well as a range of Asian salads and snacks. Meanwhile, Black Sheep Coffee has signed for a second location at St James Quarter. The operator will offer coffee alongside Norwegian waffles, bagels, toasties and açaí bowls, as well as its new range of matcha products. Completing the signings is Pret A Manger, which will be opening a 3,000 sq ft flagship overlooking Multrees Walk. Søstrene Grene to continue expansion with Wimbledon opening

The store will offer the retailer’s range of homeware, craft supplies, furniture, gifts and toys, and party supplies. Superdrug opens flagship store at Sheffield’s Meadowhall

Superdrug has opened the doors to its new flagship store at Meadowhall in Sheffield. Spanning 10,199 sq ft, the new store is one of the health and beauty retailer’s largest in the UK and arrives as part of the brand’s plans to open 25 locations in 2025. The store offers a range of health and beauty products, toiletries, beauty treatments, and fragrances. A nurse-clinic service will also be available, offering services such as travel health advice, vaccinations, and blood tests. Superdrug at Meadowhall also features a dedicated ‘Beauty Studio’ area, where customers can access treatments such as eyebrow shaping, nail treatments, acrylics, lashes, and piercings.
