Ikea has opened its third UK store in a city centre location at Churchill Square Shopping Centre in Brighton.

The retailer’s new store spans 6,695 sq ft across two floors within the former Debenhams department store, and offers a range of home furnishing accessories and small furniture. Customers will be able to order larger items in-store for delivery or collection.

The store features roomsets, a market-hall, planning consultations for kitchen and bedroom storage, second hand products, and Ikea’s dining options, including a 100-seater Swedish Deli restaurant.

Karina Gilpin, manager at Ikea Brighton, said the opening represents the retailer’s commitment to making Ikea more accessible to city residents.

Mark Buchanan-Smith, Meeting Place manager at Churchill Square, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Ikea to Churchill Square as it opens its very first store in Brighton. This long-anticipated moment marks a significant milestone for the city and reflects what our community has been asking for. Ikea will become a crucial part of our Meeting Place experience – helping us create a vibrant destination where people come together to shop, eat, and enjoy meaningful moments in the heart of Brighton & Hove.”

Ikea’s parent company, Ingka Investments, acquired Churchill Square Shopping Centre in 2023.
