Marks & Spencer appoints interim chief financial officer

Marks and Spencer Group plc has announced the arrival of Jeremy Townsend as chief financial officer.

Townsend will take the role on November 22 and replace Eoin Tonge, who will leave the business on January 19.

He has held senior financial and non-executive roles across several public roles. Most recently he was group chief financial officer at Rentokil Initial plc.

Stuart Machin, M&S CEO, said: “Over the last three years we have built a strong finance team, and Jeremy will be an excellent addition, bringing with him a wealth of financial leadership experience, as we accelerate our plans to reshape M&S for growth.”
