London’s Hard Rock Hotel to undergo transormation
The Hard Rock Hotel in London is set to be transformed, becoming The Cumberland Hotel.
The hotel, which sits opposite the Marble Arch on the corner of Oxford Street and Great Cumberland Place, will undergo the changes at the end of May, and will aim to champion London’s cultural and music scene.
The changes to the 1000-room hotel follow the rebranding of site manager Clermont Hotel Group, formerly Great London Hospitality, which is looking to reposition a number of assets under its ownership.
The transformation of the hotel will see the creation and expansion of its food and beverage offering, the development of entertainment space, and the growth of meeting and event spaces.
Gavin Taylor, chief executive of Clermont Hotel Group, said: “The Cumberland sits perfectly within our Clermont Hotel Group family, a portfolio of hotels that provides a wealth of choice for diverse leisure and corporate guest needs. We are excited about the future of the venue, and we look forward to sharing more over the coming weeks and months.”
Jon Lucas, chief operating officer, Hard Rock International, added: “London will always be a special city as the birthplace of our brand, and it’s been a privilege to offer its iconic brand of hospitality to London visitors and locals at Hard Rock Hotel London since 2019.”
