Loungers acquires four sites in three weeks
Loungers has acquired leasehold agreements for four sites in the north of England within the last three weeks.
The café and bar chain has acquired a ex-Topshop store in Carlisle city centre, a former Argos in Hexham, and a closed-down Barclays in Nantwich.
Loungers is also moving in to Burnley’s Pioneer Place, a new leisure scheme.
This follows a string of deals for the chain, which is set to open its second Leeds site in May and will join Preston’s Animate Complex upon its completion.
Jim Bishop, director of James Property Consulting, who acted on behalf of Loungers for the four new deals, said: “That’s three empty buildings with long term futures secured and one new scheme which will boost a northern town centre. Loungers are investing in towns across England and Wales and putting some serious money into our high streets – they should be applauded.”
