ASOS appoints Google executive director

Online fashion retailer ASOS has announced the appointment of Marie Gulin-Merle as a non-executive director.

Gulin-Merle has over 20 years marketing and digital transformation experience, working in beauty, technology and fashion, and will join the board in February serving on the remuneration committee, amongst others.

She is currently employed as Google’s global vice president of ads marketing in New York, leading all marketing for Google’s advertising business.

Gulin-Merle has previously held roles including chief marketing officer of Calvin Klein, chief digital officer of PVH and group chief marketing officer of L’Oreal USA.

Jørgen Lindemann, ASOS chairman, said: “Marie joins us with a depth of relevant industry knowledge across international ecommerce, marketing, beauty and brands. The Board will greatly benefit from Marie’s expertise”.

This comes a week after ASOS appointed Wei Gao in a similar role.
