Aviva appoints first head of climate policy

13th March 2023 | Jack Oliver

Aviva Investors has appointed Nick Molho as its first ever head of climate policy, who will begin the role in June.

Reporting to chief responsible investment officer Steve Waygood, Molho has been appointed to deliver Aviva’s macro stewardship programme, looking to implement a transition to net zero.

The group’s macro stewardship programme aims to engage with governments and policy makers to ensure that sustainability issues are correctly addressed.

Molho has previously worked as executive director at the Aldersgate Group, an organisation which works towards aiding the UK’s transition into a resource efficient and net zero economy. He worked at the organisation for eight years, covering areas of climate and environmental policy.

Nick Molho said: “Aviva Investors is an organisation I hold in high regard, and one which has been taking material action to shape the transition towards a sustainable future from within the private sector by actively engaging with real economy businesses and financial institutions, as well as with global governments, regulators and standard setters.”
