Nike makes flurry of senior leadership changes
Nike has announced a number of senior leadership changes, as it looks to “deepen consumer-led growth and marketplace advantage”.
Heidi O’Neill will move from the position of president of consumer and marketplace to become the sportswear retailer’s president of consumer, product and brand. The current president of the Jordan brand, Craig Williams, will become the president of geographies and marketplace.
Matthew Friend, Nike executive vice president and chief financial officer will expand his responsibilities to include procurement, global places and services, and demand and supply management.
Other changes include Sarah Mensah, current vice president/GM of North America, becoming president of the Jordan Brand. Scott Uzzell, currently CEO of Converse, will replace her. Uzzell’s successor will be named shortly.
Nike’s chief operating officer will take on the role of managing director of strategic business ventures.
Nike’s CEO and president, John Donahoe, said: “These shifts will allow us to streamline our focus across product, brand storytelling and marketplace, mining deep consumer insights to deliver breakthrough innovation and engagement, while building long-term growth and profitability”.
In addition, Michael Spillane, president of consumer creation, will retire from Nike later this year after 16 years at the company.
