Pelicana’s UK business under threat

South Korean fried chicken brand Pelicana’s UK business could be under threat following the collapse of its parent company and the temporary closure of its two sites.

The concept was brought to the UK in April 2021 by Wasabi founder and franchise rights owner Dong Hyung Kim, opening its first site at The Broadway, Hammersmith. A second site was opened in Angel Central last year.

Kim also operates two London sites under Pelicana’s sister brand Myungrang Hot Dog in Wimbledon and Angel Central, Islington.

Globally, Pelicana operates in over 1,800 stores across Asia, the United States, and Australia.
