Real Harbour adds to leadership team as it targets £250m portfolio

28th January 2026 | Jack Oliver

Investment and asset management platform Real Harbour has appointed Gary McNamara as a partner, as the recently launched firm targets a £250m portfolio.

He will focus on investment strategy, deal origination, and capital formation, working alongside Stuart Mitchell, who founded Real Harbour in November 2025. The firm is looking to create an investment management portfolio that comprises retail warehousing, supermarket developments, selected shopping centres, multi-let industrial assets, and open storage.

McNamara joins from The Ardent Companies – which owns The Royal Exchange in London and Touchwood Solihull – where he was investment director. He has also previously held senior roles within Inspired Villages, part of Legal & General’s later-living platform, and the DTZ Capital Markets team.

McNamara and Mitchell have known each other for more than 20 years, having previously studied and played rugby together at Reading University.

Gary McNamara said: “Real Harbour Capital has been established at a compelling point in the market cycle, with strong opportunities currently identified across retail and logistics sectors. Stuart and I have known each other for over 20 years and have always shared a similar outlook on how capital and asset management should be aligned. Stuart has built a business with a clear focus on investment management, asset management excellence and delivery. Together, we have a defined and complementary skill set, and I’m excited to work closely with him and to lead the investment and capital side of the platform as we deploy and grow long-term partnerships.”

Stuart Mitchell added: “2025 was about setting out a clear vision, a strategy with our capital partners, building a platform, a brand, a pipeline and a strong advisory board to support the business. The vision is to be a best-in-class investment and asset management business. They say surround yourself with a great team, Gary joining brings exactly that balance. His institutional investment experience and capital relationships complement my asset management and development experience plus occupational relationships to put the business in a strong position as we scale.
