The founder of Soho House, Nick Jones, has stepped down as chief executive.

Jones took the decision after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. Although it was caught early and treatment was successful, he described the experience as having changed his perspective.

Over 30 years, he built Soho house from a single members’ club into a global hospitality empire spanning 38 locations globally.

The news comes as Soho House enjoyed a successful quarter, with total revenues at $266m, marking a 48.2% year-on-year growth. Adjusted EBITBA was $20.3m, up $11.4m from the third quarter of 2021.

Andrew Carnie, president of Membership Collective Group, the chain’s owner, is to succeed Jones as chief executive.

Membership collective group also run co-working space Soho Works, hotel brand The Ned, and Scorpios Beach Club in Mykonos.
