The Entertainer appoints former John Lewis COO as chief executive

The Entertainer has appointed Andrew Murphy as chief executive officer.

Murphy previously held the role of chief operating officer at the John Lewis Partnership, where he spent 30 years in a variety of positions before announcing his departure last November.

During his time at John Lewis, Murphy took on 17 different roles, including as a selling assistant and in a number of operating board and executive team positions.

Gary Grant, founder and executive chairman of The Entertainer, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Andrew to The Entertainer family and using his knowledge, skills and experience to continue to grow our business both here in the UK and globally”

Andrew Murphy added: “I’m delighted to have been trusted with overseeing the continued growth and development of this fantastic business. He will officially join the business on the 16th October.
