Trafford Palazzo celebrates landmark 2023 with 60,000 sq ft of deals
Manchester’s Trafford Palazzo is celebrating a landmark year in 2023, with the experience centre securing 60,000 sq ft of deals during the year.
The centre recently welcomed family leisure concept NERF AX – a collaboration between toy and games group Hasbro and Rocafella Leisure Group – which made its full debut this autumn. The concept sits alongside local food and drink operator Archie’s, which also opened this year.
Other operators which joined Trafford Palazzo in 2023 include bowling and gaming concept King Pins, as well as highly-aesthetic café EL&N.
The centre – which was acquired and rebranded in 2021 by regeneration business Peel – also enjoyed record footfall, with a year-on-year increase of 7%. The scheme saw an average dwell time of 97 minutes, ahead of the industry average of 72 minutes.
This year also saw the introduction of TP Glow, Trafford Palazzo’s dedicated white box space for smaller businesses to experiment with the pop-up formula. TP Glow has welcomed over 20,000 visitors, and hosted scores of brands including luxury sample sale provider Showcase, which achieved one of its highest conversion rates yet.
Mark Whittaker, executive director of property investment and management at Peel, said: “2023 has been a truly landmark year for Trafford Palazzo, with the opening of TP Glow and the launch of debut concepts like NERF AX and King Pins, all contributing to the centre’s unique profile. Our vision for Trafford Palazzo is really coming to fruition, with 2024 set to be equally as exciting. More brands of international renown – including some experiences you won’t find anywhere else – are set to join the destination, so it’s a fantastic time to be part of the Trafford Palazzo community.”
Trafford Palazzo continues to benefit from its position in the centre of TraffordCity, sitting adjacent to the site for wellbeing resort Therme Manchester and mixed-use neighbourhood Trafford Waters. A developer has also been chosen for a new outdoor surfing operator opposite the centre.
