Vagabond Wines toasts opening of largest venue yet in Soho

Vagabond Wines has opened its largest venue to-date in London’s Soho.

Located at 12-16 Ganton Street, the 6,000 sq ft venue will feature a curved central bar and accommodate up to 40 guests. The bar will offer 140 different wines by the glass, including a number of wines produced at Vagabond’s own winery five miles away in Canada Water.

This marks the first new opening of 2026 for Vagabond – which is backed by the Majestic Wine Group and Fortress Investment Group – following the launch of bars in St Paul’s and Liverpool Street last autumn, and its winery at Canada Water in December. The brand will also return to Canary Wharf later this summer as it accelerates its expansion plans.

Christobell Giles, managing director of Vagabond Wines, said: “Soho thrives on breaking rules and pushing boundaries, so it is the perfect home for our new flagship site. I’m so pleased to finally be joining the amazing mix of bars and restaurants in the district and our team can’t wait to introduce thousands of new guests to the Vagabond experience.

“Ordering wine in central London can often feel like a bit of a non-event, but we want to hand the reins back to the consumer and give them an experience they will remember, every time they visit. Guests can sample more than 140 wines completely at their own pace, step outside their comfort zones and curate their own journey. That can be as simple as a single serve over lunch, or exploring new wines through one of our in-app digital wine flights. We’ve created an amazing space in Soho that really enables that discovery, making wine engaging and enjoyable for everyone.”

John Colley, CEO of Majestic Wine Group, added: “We are delighted to be supporting Vagabond’s growth alongside the team at Fortress Investment Group. Today’s launch in a prime Soho location underscores our long-term strategy to scale Vagabond’s unique concept across the UK, and welcome a new generation of curious and adventurous wine drinkers into the Majestic Wine Group.

“I truly believe that Vagabond’s blend of eclectic wines, unique guest experience and cutting-edge technology is the future of wine hospitality in the UK and we are fully committed to growing the brand in other major towns and cities outside of London in the coming years.”

Emma Matus, head of restaurant leasing at landlord Shaftesbury Capital, said: “Vagabond’s experiential concept is an ideal match for Soho, appealing to our broad demographic of visitors and perfectly complementing our dynamic, ever-evolving food and drink scene. Like its fellow wine bars in Soho, Vagabond delivers a unique, interactive experience that suits the West End right down to the ground.”
