Liverpool ONE says more pop-ups coming in 2023
Liverpool ONE’s director has said the scheme is planning to introduce more pop-ups throughout the year, as it toasts its most recent addition, MerseyMade.
The 3,200 sq ft MerseyMade pop-up is located on Peters Lane and showcases original artworks, handmade cushions and bags, baby accessories, and bath products from artists and artisans including Jenny Dunlop, Sophie Green, and Alistair McCready.
MerseyMade was founded in Liverpool in 2019 as a means to provide a hub for local artists, and with the help of Grosvenor-managed Liverpool ONE, aims to connect with a wider audience. The pop-up will remain on Peter’s Lane until the end of January before moving to a second location on Liverpool ONE’s Manesty’s Lane.
The scheme has also seen the arrival of LDC Activates, a creative initiative which replaces the vinyl on the current facade of the future Cricket flagship with tech-enabled windows. These use QR codes to allow customers to leave reviews on their experience, an alternative to the usual hoardings seen in shopping centres.
Chris Jukes, Liverpool ONE director at Grosvenor, said: “Innovation and independents have always played a role in the success of Liverpool ONE, creating additional reasons to visit, building engagement with consumers, and supporting the local community. MerseyMade has proved incredibly popular, but is just the beginning for 2023. We will be introducing more pop-ups throughout the year to complement the established, and highly successful, retail, food and drink, and leisure offer at Liverpool ONE.”
This follows a busy 2022 for the scheme, which welcomed footwear retailer size?, saw an upsize for German fashion brand BOSS, and announced the signing of M&S, who will take the old Debenhams unit, all towards the end of the year.
