New Look to close a number of stores

10th February 2023 | Jack Oliver

New Look has confirmed the closure of six of its stores, although the retailer said it still plans to open in more locations.

Two stores in Birmingham and stores in Trowbridge, Coventry, and Walthamstow in London, have already shuttered, with New Look’s Northampton and Kirkcaldy stores set to close later in the year.

As of March last year, the retailer said it operates 440 stores in the UK and Ireland.

A New Look spokesperson said: “As part of the normal course of business, New Look occasionally closes sites, but also opens new stores when the right opportunities arise.

“While a small number of stores have closed in recent months, our most recent new openings were in November 2022 and we have plans for further openings in the first half of this year.”

This news comes just days after it was revealed that Scottish retailer M&Co would be closing all of its stores after the brand was bought out from administration.
