Nike Rise to open second UK store at Bullring & Grand Central
Nike has selected Hammerson’s Bullring & Grand Central in Birmingham as the location for its second UK ‘Nike Rise’ concept store.
This follows the success of the concept across Asia and the US, as well as at its UK debut in Westfield London.
It is due to open its doors later this year.
Taking a 13,000 sq ft unit, Nike Rise aims to empower athletes to make sport a daily habit through the aid of data-driven digital services.
Earlier this year, Nike agreed to bring the concept to Manchester Arndale, with the store set to open later this year.
Toby Tait, director of asset management at Hammerson, said: “This high-profile signing is yet again a clear sign of the value brands see in Bullring; its importance to the UK market and to all the people who live in, work in, and visit Birmingham.
“We are always looking to introduce new and exciting concepts across our portfolio, and Nike Rise is a great example of how we can combine a community focus with retail innovation here in Bullring.”
The news comes during a transformative year for the Birmingham development, which has welcomed new tenants such as Sandbox VR and Lane7, whilst brands set to open before Christmas include M&S, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Footasylum and Watches of Switzerland.
