Victorian Plumbing announces new distribution centre
Online specialist bathroom retailer Victorian Plumbing has signed an agreement to enter a 20-year lease for a new 544,000 sq ft purpose-built distribution centre.
The Lancashire centre, located near the retailer’s existing operations, is expected to be completed in Autumn 2023 and will become fully operational after a period of dual running with existing sites.
Victorian Plumbing said that the new distribution centre will support its strategic expansion and enable the consolidation of its existing sites.
The retailer added that it will invest in fitting out the new distribution centre through the current and next financial year, with the investment providing Victorian Plumbing with further operational capacity to support its growth and strengthen its market position.
Mark Radcliffe, founder and chief executive officer of Victorian Plumbing, said: “This new facility represents another exciting milestone for the business, providing us with capacity to manage growth in the long-term”.
“This new facility will create additional jobs and further support our investment in the local area”, he added.
In December, the retailer reported a drop in operating profit of 40%.
