Julian Charles opens in Norwich
Julian Charles has opened at Castle Quarter, taking a five-year lease at the Norwich scheme.
Opening in a 1,800 unit, the bedroom furnishings retailer offers a range of bedding, curtains, cushions, throws, and accessories.
The arrival of Julian Charles looks to diversify the Norwich scheme’s offering, which has retained a traditional retail base whilst embracing new leisure and food and beverage operators. Notable recent additions to the shopping centre include Boom Battle Bar, Putt Putt Noodle and Escape Hunt, and the ‘market hall’ style Castle Social.
Following this repositioning, footfall in October at the scheme was up 10.7% year-on-year, whilst turnover was up 22.4%. As more leisure operators have arrived, the scheme has extended its trading hours, whilst dwell time has also increased.
Will Ashdown, asset manager at RivingtonHark, said: “Julian Charles is a fantastic addition to the line-up at Castle Quarter, further strengthening the offer and giving people even more reason to visit the destination. The recent record performance of the scheme highlights the success of our strategy of focusing entirely on providing the retailers, operators and options that people want in a city centre location such as Castle Quarter.”
Roche and Jamieson Mills are Castle Quarter’s retained agents.
